Religion & Politics -- the Landmark Ruling of Justice Moore vs. the United States

 What is the definition of “Religion?” According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, “Religion” is a literal Pandora’s box of multiple and complicated characterizations of the English language. After extensive research, the word “Religion” dates back to the 13th century. In one instance, religion means: the service and worship of God or the supernatural (coincidentally – the Merriam Webster dictionary capitalizes the name “God.”). A second, more refined definition assigns religion to a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs and practices. Of course, the word “religion” becomes much more expansive as we scroll down the pages of countless terms in relation to this broad word. In a third definition, religion translates into scrupulous (moral integrity or what is upright and proper) conformity – otherwise, known as the state of conscientiousness (having moral integrity). And finally, as the can of worms is opened by “religion,” we find that it is directly linked to the word “Uprightness.” The web of ideologies then takes on a whole new fundamental implication. Upright, as defined as being scrupulous – which is defined by moral integrity – then parochially, religion, in fact means honesty, to be just, conscientiousness, scrupulous and honorable.

Recent, social events are indicative of the decline of human consciousness, freedom, liberties, morality and the evident growth of perverse political corruption. Chief Justice Roy S. Moore, a graduate of the West Pointe Military Academy, a former Captain in the Military Police Corps of the US Army, holder of an extensive National service record in Kansas, Germany and in Vietnam, was elected by popular vote as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Alabama in November 2000. Chief Justice Moore also has received 15 National Honors, including the 1997 Bill of Rights Award, the 1995 George Washington Honor Medal from National Freedom Foundation in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, and the 1998 Andrew Jackson Champion of Liberty Award by the US Taxpayers Party. Beside his meritorious service to his country, Justice Moore has made appearance on several, television news and family shows, authored multiple articles and is even notated for his poetic literature. So how does an American Chief Justice tie into the word “religion?” In a landmark decision, Chief Justice Roy Moore was ejected from office in mid-November for his stance relating to his commission of the “Ten Commandments” monument on the Alabama Statehouse. According to several organizations and groups, the exhibition of the “Ten Commandments’” Monument was an offensive display of “Religion.” In addition, the monument depicts quotes from the American Declaration of Independence – “…Laws of nature and of Nature’s God,” the US National Motto – “…In God We Trust,” the US Pledge of Allegiance - “…One Nation Under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for All” And the US Judiciary Act of 1789 - “…So Help Me God.”

Suddenly, the word “Religion” takes on a vast assumption of forced religious status. Throughout the course of history, religion has been the taboo word that has cost countless lives, and has led to the demise and radical behavior of human civilization as a whole. The word itself is not the underlying root cause, however the individuals and groups who oppose and misconstrue its basic meaning are in fact responsible.

Does the ejection of Chief Justice Moore grossly alter the foundation on which the United States of America is founded? Let’s take a brief look at US history. The original US Constitution was signed by the deputies of the then, 12 United States. It’s final decree stated: “…done in Convention by the Unanimous Consent of the States present the Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven and of the Independence of the United States of America the Twelfth In witness whereof We have hereunto subscribed our Names…”

According the US Amendments – “…Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances…”

The Presidential Oath of Offices states: “…I, (name), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and I will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States."

The Present United States Army Oath attests: “…I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the president of the United States and the orders of the Officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the uniform code of military justice. So help me God! “

The US National Anthem, written by Francis Scott Key, in its entirety includes: “,,.Oh, Thus be it ever when free men shall stand, Between their loved homes and the war's desolation; Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Power that has made and preserved us as a nation. Then conquer we must, when our cause is just, And this be our motto: "In God is our trust"; And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.”

On US Mint Paper money, the phrase is written: “…In God We Trust…”

In State and Federal Court proceedings, individuals are proposed to swear upon a Bible, after the question - “Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help you God?”

This notorious ruling (Justice Moore’s ejection) has advertently created an anomaly in the foundation of US principles and practices - not only in civil proceeding; in law altogether. The paradoxes are expediently going to modify American society in ways that are unimaginable. By eliminating a single person’s belief foundation – whether it be in the virtue of God or no god at all, is a flagrant violation of the US Constitution. When persons can no longer express their beliefs, or opinions, then America as we once entrusted ourselves to is no longer existent. If in fact, Justice Moore’s monument was so offensive, then the monetary exchange must obliterate all wording of God upon its print. If there is no “higher” law, then to what do we attribute our own word of truth? When there is no Divine law, then law itself, is extinguished – thus, unenforceable. When military personnel are sworn into office, they can no longer be held accountable for the protection of the US Constitution, as their oath specifically affirms to God. Furthermore, if they find the dollar bill offensive, members of the US military should not have to fight for their country because it “incites” religion.

Ah…the wheels of irrevocable motion have begun to spin out of modern society’s control. Since we no longer need a higher law in which to follow or answer, then justice and punishment are a past novelty. Life as we know it has been dramatically distorted – are you paying attention? The deeper we dive into the political reference or irrelevance to God, the more we are hurled into an inescapable labyrinth of justifiable crime and corruption. The repercussions of this monumental order have not yet reached their full potential. The possibilities of reverse decisions in criminal cases are still yet to come. What if a client finds the sworn testimony of a potential witness as an infringement of his “religious” beliefs? Will this not become a free “get out of jail” card for the scores of guilty thugs who could perversely misuse this ruling as a legal technicality in the justice system?

The assumption is that since a higher law is no longer acceptable by modern-thinking Americans, then why have laws at all? Laws and regulations (set forth by the United States) are governed by the Ten Commandments – thus justice and our modern legal system are mute – some thoughts to ponder.
